Our story

Cephei was founded in 1990 by Michael Boehm as a partnership, was converted into a GmbH in 1994, and has operated as an AG since 2000. Since then, the company has grown into a leading development partner for tailor-made software solutions.

With more than three decades of experience, we have delivered countless projects for DAX-listed enterprises and international companies. From the early days of desktop development to today's connected world, we have consistently stayed close to the leading edge of technology.

Since 2024 we have placed a special focus on artificial intelligence. With our own AI infrastructure and initial successful projects for international enterprises, we are actively shaping the digital future.

Why "Cephei"?

The company name

VV Cephei is a binary star system in the constellation Cepheus (genitive: Cephei) and counts among the largest known stars in the Milky Way. Its supergiant reaches roughly 1,600 to 1,900 times the diameter of the Sun. The constellation is also home to the Cepheids, pulsating giant stars whose periodic brightness helps astronomy measure distances in space with precision. In Greek mythology, Cepheus was the king of Ethiopia, husband of Cassiopeia, and father of Princess Andromeda. The name stands for foresight and reliability - an inspiration we carry into our projects.
